So many things have changed since I wrote here last. It's January, the new year, lucky 2013. All ready I have a poem that will be published in the online literary journal, The 5-2: Crime Poetry Weekly. I am excited about that. I worked hard on this poem for a workshop and the poet, our teacher, Amy, suggested sending it to The 5-2, and lo and behold! A taker. I have another poem sent to a magazine also suggested by Amy, and I'm crossing my fingers that they like the poem as much as I and my workshop mates do and that they will want it in their magazine. This type of stuff encourages me to send more poems to more places and to feel not so sorry for myself with each rejection.

I'm working a lot all ready in 2013, and I always think that is a good thing because I'm making money for the family and I'm doing something with my time now that the kids are teenagers and need and don't need me around all of the time.

Today it's snowing, kids are sleeping, I'm typing this when I should be checking my online classroom. I'll get there. I'm preparing for a trip into the city tomorrow; the snow will have stopped by then and I am taking a train anyway. Two days in the city with a friend and lots of knitters.
